Alpha Epsilon Phi accepts Jewish and non-Jewish women alike who acknowledge and respect Alpha Epsilon Phi's Jewish heritage. Alpha Epsilon Phi is not a religious organization, but rather we provide a Jewish cultural environment and are just as much a part of Panhellenic as any other sororities on campus. Alpha Epsilon Phi values and promotes friendship and sisterhood, honors our Jewish heritage, inspires exemplary women and supports personal growth.
We are proud to say that Alpha Epsilon Phi still holds these values paramount to all others. These values are the basis of the pride that one takes in referring to fellow members of the organization as "sisters," indicating to family, friends, and strangers alike to the pride that we have in being "Phis".

The mission of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority is "to inspire and support exemplary women dedicated to friendship and a lifelong commitment to Alpha Epsilon Phi while building on the vision of our Jewish founders". Our SDSU chapter was originally established on the San Diego State campus March 8th, 1964. We recolonized in the Spring of 2006 and were rechartered as the Epsilon Nu chapter in Fall 2008.  We are excited to bring the legacy of Alpha Epsilon Phi back to SDSU, as well as being a newer addition to SDSU's expanding Panhellenic community.

Sisterhood

When not at school, you can often find sisters hanging around the house watching the latest episodes of True Blood or even making the occasional Chipotle run. Here at Alpha Epsilon Phi, sisterhood is one of our top priorities, so we are constantly thinking of new, fun events to put on with our sisters. We have sisterhood events often to help us keep in touch with one another. In the past we've had fun tie dying, carving pumpkins for Halloween, bonfires, karaoke, movie nights, ice skating, roller skating, and even celebrating Pi day, just to name a few! Even if there isn't a scheduled event, you can always catch us having fun together, whether it be shopping, going to the movies, or just hanging out! Each semester we have a sisterhood retreat to get away from the house and just have fun!  We have recently celebrated 100 years of Alpha Epsilon Phi by hosting a dinner at our house and inviting one of our UCSD chapter to come celebrate with us. We believe that sisterhood is one of the most important aspects of being in a sorority, and we are proud to say that we hold a close bond that lasts long after our college experience.

Big Sis Reveal

One of our favorite events is Big Sis Reveal! Each semester littles (new members) are assigned a big sis (an active member), who remains secret for an entire week, leaving their littles presents and small hints to guess who they are. Littles show their appreciation and love for their big by making them posters and present baskets of their own to give to their big once they are revealed. In return, bigs also design and give their littles their first set of letters. Bigs and littles hold a special bond within the house; the idea of having a big sis is to have someone you are closest to in the house that will help you transition from your new member period into an active sister.

Big & Little

Green & White

Green and White is a very special event put on each semester by the incoming pledge class. This is a formal dinner that the new member class puts together and presents to the actives. The dinner usually has a fun theme; in the past we've had a Vegas Casino Night, a Tuscan theme, and even a Princess theme complete with Prince Charming! At this event, new members also present their paddles that they have made for their new bigs!

Socials and Formals

Every semester we hold a Semiformal and Formal dance, as well as put together socials with some of our favorite fraternities! For Formal events, we dress up for the night and all meet up and the house with our dates (and of course take lots of pictures!), where we all load onto party buses that will take us to a surprise location. Our socials usually have a theme in which we can dress up for the night.
